Non-Profit Organization Overseas Medical Equipment Technical Assistants
Ometa(Overseas Medical Equipment Technical Assistants) was established under the aegis of its parent organization, Japan Medical Products International Trade Association, on July 21, 1993, having been approved as Non-profit organization corporate by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government on March 24, 2000 and registered as such on April 5 in the same year.
The Japanese government gives grants for medical facilities and devices to developing countries via the Official Development Assistance (ODA). Ometa promotes ODA-related activities in the following ways.
Revitalization of ODA through follow-up and after-care.
Assisting the stable development of medical facilities in developing countries.
Support of Japan's international cooperation activities and contribution to maintenance of the reliability of Japan-made medical devices and products in the international market.
